01 Acceptance
These terms form an agreement between you and Hesklo ("Hesklo", "we", "us") and govern your use of the Hesklo website and service. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
02 The service
Hesklo checks the availability of endpoints you configure over HTTP, TCP, ICMP ping and SSH, and delivers alerts according to the flows you build. Most checks probe your targets from the outside without an agent installed. SSH checks are different: they run a command you specify on a system you control, and treat the result as the signal of whether that system is healthy. You are responsible for ensuring you are authorised to monitor the targets you configure and to run any commands you set up.
03 Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and confirm it before using the service.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.
- You may not share your account or use it on behalf of others without authorisation.
04 Acceptable use
You agree not to use Hesklo to:
- Monitor or probe systems you do not own or have permission to test.
- Send alerts to recipients who have not agreed to receive them, or to send spam.
- Place an unreasonable load on any third party, or use checks to launch or disguise an attack.
- Place an abusive or unreasonable load on Hesklo itself, or attempt to circumvent the limits of your plan.
- Break any applicable law, or infringe the rights of others.
- Interfere with, reverse engineer or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
We may suspend accounts that breach these rules, where necessary without notice to protect the service or third parties.
05 Status pages
Hesklo lets you publish a public status page on a Hesklo subdomain that shows the state of the monitors you choose to make public. You are responsible for the content you set on that page, including its title, and for the decision to make any monitor's status public.
- The acceptable use rules above apply to status page content. It must not be unlawful, infringing, misleading or abusive.
- You must not use a subdomain or title that impersonates another person or organisation, or that you are not entitled to use.
- We may remove a status page, or disable the feature for an account, where its content breaches these terms or where necessary to protect the service or third parties.
06 Plans and billing
Hesklo offers a free plan and paid plans. Plan limits, including the number of monitors, the minimum check interval and history retention, are described on the pricing page. Some features, including public status pages, are available only on paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe.
- Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect according to the rules shown in the dashboard; if you drop below your current monitor count, monitors over the new limit stop running (oldest kept) until you remove some or upgrade again.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- We may change prices on notice. Changes do not affect the period you have already paid for.
07 Alerts and reliability
Hesklo is a tool to help you notice and respond to problems, but we cannot guarantee that every check is accurate or that every alert is delivered on time. Alert delivery depends on third parties such as email, SMS and chat providers that are outside our control. You should not rely on Hesklo as your only safeguard for anything where failure to receive an alert could cause serious harm or loss.
08 Intellectual property
The service, including its software, design and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while these terms are in force. Your configuration and data remain yours; you grant us only the rights needed to operate the service for you.
09 Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, or to comply with the law. On termination your right to use the service ends and we handle your data as described in the privacy policy.
10 Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that it will detect every outage.
11 Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from a missed or delayed alert or an undetected outage. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12 Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the dashboard. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and the Swedish courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live. Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected].
